This site is under development and is still quite basic; it has limited linking and no comment facilities. However, it does work, and should be further progressed in 2024.
The site includes some photographs that I think are worth making available to view. They are mainly views and details of London, Greece and nature but there are other pictures too.
Being from an architectural background I value qualities in light and space. However, photographs tend to revolve around objects or subjects. Many of the photographs here are taken in London: its buildings, its parks, its river. I hope some other qualities come through, in addition to the recognizable scenes.
I have started by putting some of the photographs I enjoy into Collections. These are accessible through the top right-hand corner where it says Photo Collections. At present there are seven Collections: Butterflies, Greenwich, St Paul’s Cathedral, Southwark Park, Southwark Cathedral, City Churches and Greece – Ioannina. These will be added to.
Most pictures on this website are taken with a Nikon D600 and a Nikkor 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 lens or a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 macro lens. Before May 2014 pictures were taken with a Nikon D60 and Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens. A Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens has also been used with both cameras. Some of the pictures, especially those overseas, like the pictures from Greece, are taken with a Panasonic Lumix TZ200. Before November 2018 they were taken with a Sony Cyber-shot RX100M3 and, before June 2015, a Canon Powershot G11.
Pictures are generally recorded in RAW. They are processed in Lightroom to bring out the best in the picture. I try to process as little as is necessary to get the picture near to how I saw the scene and what prompted me to take the photograph. They are then reduced from TIFFs to JPEGs to make the site more manageable.
This Word Press website was launched in January 2024 and should be updated every month. The next update should be in mid November 2024.
